The Teacher Librarian leads high- quality library services and learning programmes that promote reading culture, information literacy, and digital citizenship, while supporting teaching, learning, and student wellbeing across the EMASI school community.
Responsibilities and Duties:
• Manage library budgets efficiently for what services and programs.
• Develop and manage library collections to support curriculum and inquiry- based learning.
• Promote reading engagement, information literacy, and digital citizenship.
• Collaborate with Marketing and Operations to support library branding, safety, and functionality.
• Build positive relationships with teachers, parents, and the wider community.
• Develop partnerships with publishers and other libraries.
• Engage in ongoing professional learning and system- wide collaboration.
• Manage library systems, spaces, and emerging technologies effectively.
• Coordinate library programmes, events, and team operations across grade levels.
• Design and deliver library lessons aligned with the EMASI Library Curriculum.
• Collaborate with teachers to integrate library learning into classroom programmes.
• Align library initiatives with whole- school priorities and leadership directions.
• Create and maintain a welcoming, inclusive, and resource- rich library environment.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Library & Information Science, or a relevant degree in English Teaching, or equivalent.
• At least two years’ experience teaching English as a Second Language in an international or bilingual setting.
• Minimum two years’ experience in an international or bilingual school library or as a Teacher Librarian.
