• Be aware of possible situations where guests are not able to safely participate in an activity and inform supervisor/manager
• Ensure guests amenities, towels, linen and other guests needs have ample supply
• Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager
• Complete safety training and certifications
• Adhere to specified hygiene and personal appearance standards
• Conversant with emergency evacuation and fire procedures for relevant department
• Open the pool each day and close it down each evening, depending on schedule and hours
• At the pool area you will uphold the rules of the pool, deal with medical emergencies, make sure that the pool is sanitary and safe, and even send unruly children and adults out of the pool area if they are engaging in dangerous or illegal activities.
• Conduct regular inspections of pool grounds to ensure cleanliness standards are maintained
• Responsible for every swimmer at the resort’s pool and beach area
• Assist Food & Beverage staff to deliver food & beverage services
• At the beach, you will look for undertows, swimmers being dragged far out to sea, animals, boats that are getting too close to swimmers
• Participate actively in employee activities
• Participate in activities concerning protection of environment
• Ensure only qualified persons such as in- house guests, members and guests who paid the entrance fee are allowed to use
• Perform any other task assigned based on the hotel needs or requirements.
• Take Food & Beverage Orders from guests in pool area
• This includes making the swimming area safe, by getting rid of dangerous objects, encouraging safe play in the water and watching out for weaker swimmers
• Liaise with other operational departments such as Laundry, Housekeeping and Engineering to provide great service
• Follow hotel procedures in relation to pool towel issue and retrieval
• If there is an incident at the pool or beach and a swimmer is in trouble, the lifeguard must know CPR and first aid, and be able to administer any treatment required to save the swimmer
• Your responsibility will also include teaching water aerobics or swimming classes, and provide assistance to those who might be having difficulty swimming
• You will also need to teach the guests to use certain of the equipment that is provided by the resort, such as the flotation tubes and blow up boats to make sure that they are used safely and that those using them are confident
• Ensure local area knowledge and surrounding attractions is kept current
• Attend scheduled training
• Abide by rules and regulations and policies and procedures of hotel
