Job Purpose: The Vietnam Operations Manager is responsible for leading a growing, fast- paced manufacturing operation. The Vietnam Plant Manager’s primary responsibility includes ensuring that operations goals are communicated to the plant floor and that the plant manufactures smoothly and efficiently, delivering high quality products in the most profitable and adaptive manner. The Vietnam Plant Manager brings a deep understanding of systems thinking, combining data analytics with process optimization expertise. The Vietnam Plant Manager is a cross- functional resource and continuous improvement leader in lean manufacturing waste reduction and output growth.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
· Educate plant staff in problem- solving, risk mitigation, equipment usage, and other best practices.
· Assist Engineering and Maintenance to design and control preventative maintenance programs.
· Collaborate with Maintenance to ensure machines are functional and well maintained.
· Manage time- off requests and absences of direct reports.
· Manage cost, productivity, accuracy, waste, and timeliness through reporting metrics.
· Communicate clear and consistent operations goals across all levels of operations staff.
· Develop operations staff along career path to better the employee and the company.
· Ensure plant complies with applicable laws and regulations (e.g., OSHA, DOL, SMETA, etc.).
· Coordinate with Plant Superintendent to manage and maintain operating and capital budgets.
· Develop report structures and metrics to give upper management visibility on key performance drivers on the production floor.
· Assist Human Resources to onboard new manufacturing hires and support employee relations.
· Conduct and document plant staff performance reviews.
· Coordinate floor teams to best utilize machine capacity and achieve customer deadlines.
· Direct plant staff to achieve efficient processes, workflows, and work environments.
· Coordinate manufacturing Projects (e.g., layout changes, installation of equipment, repairs, etc.)
· Ideate and implement changes to meet cost, productivity, accuracy, waste, and timeliness goals (e.g. visual aids for standard work, performance metrics, and training manuals).
· Other duties as necessary.
· Identify, monitor, and prioritize tasks to meet manufacturing goals (including staff development).
· Drive and foster a culture of continuous improvement and accountability across all levels of operations staff.
· Manage the coordination of multi- level resources (e.g., materials, supplies, and staff).
