JOB PURPOSE:
- This position will support to develop and maintain MS SQL Databases and Integration service within De Heus applications as well as support to manage and ensure that all databases are highly available, with proper backup & recovery strategy.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
System Planning & Implementation (30%)
- Database Design and Modelling: ASAs are responsible for designing and structuring databases to meet the needs of the organization. They create logical and physical database models to support the data requirements of applications.
- Capacity Planning: ASAs plan for future growth of the database. This includes estimating the resources required and scaling the database environment as needed.
- Installation and Configuration: ASAs install and configure database servers and software. They ensure that the database environment is set up correctly and performs optimally.
- Update and Patch Management: ASAs apply updates and patches to database software to address security vulnerabilities and improve functionality.
System Monitoring and Maintenance (40%)
- Performance Tuning: ASAs monitor and optimize the performance of the database. This includes tuning SQL queries, adjusting indexes, and configuring database parameters for optimal efficiency.
- Backup and Recovery: ASAs implement backup strategies to prevent data loss. They also ensure that recovery procedures are in place and tested regularly to handle data restoration in case of failures.
- Security Management: ASAs are tasked with ensuring the security of the database. This involves managing user access, implementing security measures, and auditing database activities.
- Data Integrity: ASAs enforce data integrity rules to ensure the accuracy and consistency of data stored in the database.
Troubleshooting and Support (20%)
- ASAs provide support for database- related issues. They troubleshoot problems and work to resolve them in a timely manner.
Documentation and Reporting (10%)
- ASAs maintain documentation related to database configurations, procedures, and policies. They also generate reports on database usage and performance.
