Assistant Manager Compliance & Product Safety

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Assistant Manager, Compliance & Product Safety will help lead and grow the Compliance and Quality Assurance Team and will train to take charge to:
• Support factory operations teams on QA issues failure analyses and improvement action plans.
• Stay up to date on relevant laws and regulations, international testing standards and apply them to company practices and product standards (Possible travel to US).
• Collect, audit, and file all related registration documentation from manufacturing partners.
• Help set up and manage the future VAN THIEL & CO. in- house testing lab.
• Manage product testing, both in house and at 3rd party testing laboratories.
• Position has potential to grow to overall Compliance and QA leadership.
• Handle customer contact and requests related to compliance and testing.
• Guide, manage and coordinate regular social compliance audits for all manufacturing partners.
• Define in- house test requirements and standards for effective implementation within VAN THIEL & CO. and across vendor factories.
• Assure compliance with customers&039; product packaging specifications and packaging transit testing.

• Fluent English required.
• 2+ years&039; quality, product and material experience.
• Good working knowledge of office software.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to maintain a wide range of multi- site relationships at all levels of the organization utilizing influence, communication, facilitation, and presentation to effectively manage positive change.
• Strong analytical and problem- solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage complex situations, and exercise judgement.
• Deep understanding of furniture construction and finishes.
• Relevant experience with US&EU/UK market compliance.
• Able to work independently without supervision.
• 5+ years&039; work experience in the furniture or related industry.
