Our Business Development Manager is responsible for:
• Assist in developing business plans to ensure all assigned KPIs are implemented & achieved within area of responsibility.
• Solicit maximum business from market segments as assigned by DOSM & General Manager when required.
• Take part as one team to ensure commercial results are monitored and sales goals (both personal and team) are achieved.
• Pro- actively selling all Resort’s products & service as in: guest rooms, meeting rooms, F&B outlets and all recreational facilities when applicable.
Duties and responsibilities
Financial returns
• Ensure all inquiries are uploaded property in PMS, Sales & Catering System.
• Develops and maintains contact with business generators, corporate clients, wholesale partners, meeting and convention planners, visitors/convention bureau, travel agents, tour operators, airlines, corporate accounts, Government Departments and other producers closely allied to Hotel business
• Sells to new, existing and prospective customers considering goals set forth in the sales strategy, negotiating optimum rate for the benefit of the business
• Be able to conduct an intensive Resort site inspection and join any hosted function as directed by the Management.
• Work closely with Guest Services Department, F&B Director and the Chef to ensure complete follow up a function.
• Research and update regularly key market insights & business intelligence.
• Prepare proposals and contract letters to customers in an efficient and timely manner.
• Maintain regular contacts with IHG hotels in your region and regional sales offices
• Refers sales leads to appropriate personnel within the InterContinental Hotels Group
• Follow up business under negotiation as well as handling confirmed business.
• Promote all guest rooms, meeting venues & F&B outlets to maximize Wholesale; MICE business
• Builds profile within local market place through attendance at various events and local market place
People
• Perform/behave as per IHG Winning Ways to other colleagues within your department and toward other departments
• Coach and develop staff
• Work with Superior and Human Resources on manpower planning and management needs
• Perform/ behave as per IHG leadership competencies
• Work with Superior and Human Resources on disciplinary action for poor performance or any conflict among staff
• Observe staff’s performance, give constructive feedback when need it.
• Be always impeccably groomed to represent the Resort in a professional manner.
• Identify training need, propose training plan, and conduct the training
Guest experience
• Entertain potential accounts where necessary.
• Interact with potential clients and industry trade representatives of competitive resorts.
• Sharing guest feedback to the team
• Handle office phone calls in a timely and efficient manner.
• Ensure first communication all business leads within 2 hours of receipt and followed by proposal, no later than 8 hours during office hours.
• Perform Brand’s Services behaviors in daily operation towards the guests
• Manage all requests made by guests, or special request from guest that your staff reported to you
• Ensure consistent service within the department
Responsible business
• Rotate the roles (cross training) within department when required
• Be responsible in protecting the environment such as the trees, the sea, and special species
• Report Lost and Found immediately to Security
• Be responsible for saving resort asset/ energy/ water/ chemical and propose the saving ideas to management
• Replace Events Managers when absence
• Perform any other duties which may be assigned by the management from time to time.
• Understanding department’s and resort’s product, and upsell to the guest, or recommend resort products to the guest.
• Be responsible in keeping our property safe and secure, to participate in any resort activity related to Fire Life safety.
