We are looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer to join our Cloud Operations team. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining private cloud platforms based on OpenStack and VMware VCF technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong hands- on experience with Linux administration, virtualization, networking, and automation, with a deep understanding of large- scale cloud environments.
You will work closely with DevOps, SRE, and project teams to ensure our cloud infrastructure is secure, scalable, and reliable.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure system hardening, patch management, and security compliance.
Deploy, configure, and maintain OpenStack and VMware VCF environments (compute, storage, networking, identity, dashboard, etc.).
Document solutions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and technical best practices.
Lead or assist in implementing new private cloud solutions for enterprise clients.
Operate, monitor, and support customers’ or internal OpenStack/VMware cloud platforms.
Troubleshoot and resolve performance, scalability, and availability issues across compute, storage, and network layers.
Collaborate with DevOps/SRE teams to implement CI/CD pipelines for cloud services.
Support capacity planning, disaster recovery, and system upgrades.
Provide knowledge transfer and training to internal teams or customers.
Automate cloud operations such as provisioning, scaling, monitoring, and backups using tools like Ansible, Terraform, and Heat.
Develop and maintain monitoring and alerting systems (Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
Manage integrations with hypervisors (KVM, VMware), storage backends (Ceph, Swift, Cinder), and SDN solutions (Neutron, OVN).
Professional capacity requirements:
Technical Skills:
Extensive hands- on experience with OpenStack operations and deployments (Nova, Neutron, Cinder, Keystone, etc.).
Advanced scripting and automation skills (Python, Bash, Ansible, Terraform, Heat, Puppet).
Understanding of CI/CD principles and DevOps workflows.
Experience with monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, Zabbix).
Strong Linux administration experience (Ubuntu, CentOS, Red Hat).
Familiarity with IT ticketing and service management tools (e.g., ServiceNow, Jira).
Proficiency with VMware vSphere or VMware Cloud Foundation.
Solid understanding of networking (VLANs, VXLANs, routing, firewalls) and storage systems (Ceph, SAN/NAS).
Experience:
Customer- facing or managed- service experience is a plus.
Proven experience leading or supporting production- grade OpenStack/VMware deployments.
Experience in troubleshooting and performance optimization for cloud systems.
2–5 years of experience in cloud infrastructure operations, engineering, or implementation projects.
Certifications (preferred but not mandatory)
OpenStack certification (e.g., COA).
VMware certifications (e.g., VCP- DCV).
Linux or Networking certifications (e.g., RHCE, CCNA).
