Job Title: General Accountant
Key Responsibilities:
Accounting & Financial Reporting
Maintain full sets of accounts in compliance with Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS).
Perform monthly account reconciliations, including intercompany balances with Singapore HQ.
Ensure all accounting transactions are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement).
Support month- end and year- end closing processes.
Daily Payment Setup & Bank Reconciliations
Maintain a clear payment tracker and cash flow monitoring sheet.
Issue invoices to customers on daily basis/cut- off
Prepare, review, and execute daily payment batches (suppliers, staff claims, intercompany payments, loan disbursements).
Investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Perform daily bank reconciliations to match bank statements with internal records.
Ensure all payments are processed accurately and on time via internet banking platforms.
Tax Compliance & Reporting
Manage withholding tax (WHT) calculations for payments to overseas entities.
Prepare and submit monthly VAT declarations, Corporate Income Tax (CIT), and Personal Income Tax (PIT) filings.
Ensure tax compliance and handle communication with the local tax authorities.
Support in preparing Transfer Pricing (TP) documentation for intercompany transactions.
Payroll & Social Insurance Administration
Monitor daily cash balances and prepare cash flow projections.
Handle employee income tax finalization at year- end.
Handle payments to vendors, staff claims, loan repayments, and intercompany settlements.
Prepare and file SHUI contributions.
Cash Flow & Payment Management
Work with banks to ensure proper documentation for cross- border transactions.
Ensure compliance with State Bank of Vietnam (SBV) regulations for foreign loans and payments.
Process monthly payroll, ensuring compliance with labor laws, tax laws, and company policies.
Audit & Internal Controls
Ensure adherence to internal control policies and recommend process improvements.
Prepare audit schedules and provide required documentation.
Coordinate with external auditors for annual statutory audits.
Support in handling inspections from tax authorities and regulatory bodies.
Inventory & Fixed Assets
Calculate and record depreciation entries.
Maintain accurate Fixed Assets
Register and perform periodic asset counts.
Monitor inventory movements and perform stock- taking at year end.
Coordination with accountant in Regional HQ (Singapore)
Provide financial reports and updates to the Singapore Finance Team.
Ensure proper reconciliation of intercompany transactions.
Requirements:
Experience: 3–5 years of accounting experience in Vietnam. Preferably experienced in a foreign- invested company (FIC) or multinational corporation (MNC).
Education: Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA/ACCA qualification is a plus.
Solid understanding of:
Tax laws and compliance
Vietnamese Accounting Standards (VAS)
Daily payment processes
Bank reconciliations
Proficient in accounting software & skills:
Language: Fluent in Vietnamese and English (both spoken and written) for communication with regional teams (Singapore HQ).
MISA, ASP
Strong skills in Microsoft Excel.
