OBJECTIVE OF THE POSITION:
This role will work closely with Finance Controller on matters relating to budgets/forecasts.
To Be Fully In charge of the General Ledger Book Keeping function
Prepare monthly reports, financial statement and monthly Melia reports, owner&039;s report and third party requirements as well as reconciliation of all balance sheet items.
Maintain the General Ledger, proper recording of transactions to the books of accounts
Perform complete cycle of month end closing
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core competencies
Month- end bank reconciliation statements should be available on the 3rd day of the following month and reconciling adjustments should be recorded timely.
Maintaining full confidentiality over the Hotel&039;s Financial information;
Liaising with the external auditors during annual or interim audit activities and preparing audit schedules requested by the external auditors;
Reviews and checks cashier&039;s report, cash deposits, cash receipts and credit/ debit cards transactions on a daily basis;
Review ensuring that all A/R, A/P, Credit and Income are kept up to date – regular billing, standard, journal, postings, payment mark- up, collection follow up etc;
Takes fully responsibility on maintenance of general ledger and chart of accounts;
Checks cash balances weekly and coordinates with staff concerned for daily and weekly collections to ensure sufficient amount of funds at all times;
Reviews account transactions and balances throughout the month so that incorrect posting/account charging are adjusted on time, investigate unusual transactions and adjusts as necessary;
Keep filing organized and updated.
Regular checking up to resolve disputed outstanding cases in the Accounts Receivables and Accounts Payable.
Department records must be well kept for internal and external audits.
Timely compilation of monthly Accounts Receivable & A/P Statement.
Prepares interim bank reconciliation statement for balances as of 10th day of the month;
Prepares weekly cash report for submission to the Director of Finance every Friday morning;
Prepares journal entries and ensures proper recording of transactions to the book of accounts;
Coordinates with other sections in Finance and other departments and makes follow- up so that reports required are submitted on time for a timely month- end closing activities;
Ensures that complete cycle of month end closing is efficiently and accurately done and submitted on a timely manner;

Maintaining good working relationship with other departments.
Monitor and assist employees at their daily work place, answer any questions asked by employees and give necessary instructions.
Training of employees – must take initiative to guide and train junior employees in the department
