JOB DESCRIPTION
Reportsto:Curriculum Coordinator / Lead IGCSE & A- Level Teacher
Department: ICT / Computer Science
Hours: Full- time (or part- time byagreement)
ContractType:Fixed- term Internship (2025–2026 academic year)
JobPurpose
Tosupport the delivery of outstanding teaching and learning in ICT and ComputerScience for IGCSE (0478/0984/2210) and Cambridge International AS & A- Level(9618) classes by working closely under the direction and mentorship of thelead classroom teachers, while gaining valuable classroom experience andprofessional development.
KeyResponsibilities
Teaching& Learning Support
Assist the lead teacher in preparing and delivering engaging lessons for IGCSE and A- Level ICT/Computer Science classes.
Work with small groups or individual students to reinforce learning, clarify concepts, and provide targeted support (including programming, databases, networking, algorithms, etc.).
Support whole- class teaching by managing resources, supervising practical activities, and facilitating group work.
Contribute to the creation and updating of teaching resources, worksheets, revision guides, and digital materials.
Assist in the supervision of practical assessments and internal examinations.
Pastoral& Classroom Support
Support the maintenance of a positive, inclusive, and disciplined learning environment.
Assist with classroom management and behavior monitoring in line with school policies.
Help supervise students during lessons, break times, or school events when required.
Administrative& Technical Support
Maintain computer labs and equipment in good working order.
Support the lead teacher with administrative tasks such as attendance registers, basic troubleshooting, software updates and reporting faults.
Assist in preparing and managing student coursework portfolios and evidence for moderation.
REQUIREMENTS
Person Specification
Essential
Enthusiasm for working with secondary- age students (Grades 9–12).
Student in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field.
Commitment to professional learning and development.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
Strong subject knowledge in areas covered by Cambridge IGCSE and A- Level Computer Science/ICT (programming in Python or Java, databases, networking, logic gates, algorithms, etc.).
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable
Previous experience tutoring, coaching, or working with young people.
Basic experience with educational technology tools (TEAMS, Microsoft Office 365, etc.).
Familiarity with Cambridge International syllabuses (0478, 0984, 2210, 9618).
Experience in Python, Java, SQL, or web development technologies.
