Job Summary
Be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the company&039;s logistics strategy and daily operations. The role involves optimizing transportation, warehousing, and inventory management to ensure a cost- effective, timely, and safe movement of goods from suppliers to customers. The candidate is a strategic, data- driven leader with exceptional organizational skills and a strong understanding of supply chain management.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Management
• Manage all warehousing activities, including receiving, storage, order picking, and shipping.
• Monitor and manage inventory levels to prevent stockouts or overstocking, and oversee regular inventory counts.
• Ensure all logistics activities comply with company policies, relevant laws, and safety regulations.
• Develop and implement efficient logistics processes and procedures to enhance supply chain performance.
• Supervise and coordinate transportation operations, including carrier selection, route planning, and optimization.
• Build up a cargo terminal (extended on- airport facility) as required.
Vendor and Carrier Management
• Build and maintain strong, long- term relationships with key logistics partners.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate contracts with third- party logistics (3PL) providers, carriers, and suppliers.
• Conduct regular performance reviews of vendors to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met and costs are managed.
Team Leadership
• Provide coaching and performance feedback to team members, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Recruit, train, and manage the logistics team, which may include warehouse staff, logistics coordinators, and drivers.
• Establish clear performance goals and conduct regular evaluations.
Budgeting and Reporting
• Present regular reports and strategic recommendations to senior management.
• Develop and manage the logistics budget, monitoring expenditures to ensure cost- efficiency.
• Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for logistics, such as transportation costs, on- time delivery rates, and inventory accuracy.
Process Improvement
• Utilize logistics management software (e.g., ERP, WMS, TMS) to enhance operational efficiency.
• Analyze logistics data to identify trends, pinpoint issues, and drive continuous process improvements.
• Develop and implement contingency plans to mitigate logistics risks and disruptions.
