Risk Management Group works closely with our business partners to manage the bank’s risk exposure by balancing its objective to maximise returns against an acceptable risk profile. We partner with origination teams to provide financing, investments and hedging opportunities to our customers. Responsibilities
Job Purpose
As a Credit Approver,
Approve/Support/Review transactions submitted by the Relationship Managers (‘RMs’) of DBS Vietnam as well as transactions with overseas subsidiaries/corporates.
Proactively manage credit risk/exposure of customers of DBS Vietnam on a portfolio basis.
Responsible for the counterparty risk ratings of portfolio of corporate and FI customers; and
Support SCRM and Country manager in regulatory / SVB related matters.
Work with RMs to meet the Bank’s KPIs such as ROE asset expansion and Non- Performing Loan rate without compromising the Bank’s risk position.
Key Accountabilities
Manage a sub- portfolio of the overall credit risk portfolio of DBS Vietnam.
Deliver quality credit decisions/recommendations based on sound judgement, by adopting a systematic and consistent approach in line with the Bank’s credit policies and guidelines on a timely basis. KPIs: replacement and growth in assets, risk assessment and mitigant, NPL/SP trend, cost and compliance.
Active participation in all credit- related initiatives within RMG and DBS Vietnam.
Motivate and coach RMs to build up an efficient, knowledgeable and professional credit standing with regional, sector/industry expertise.
Job Duties
Assist in socializing new/amended risk policies and procedures to RMs to ensure compliance with the bank’s credit policy and guidelines.
As a Credit Approver,
Pro- actively identify and recommend remedial/defensive actions for weak marginal cases through periodic reviews; periodic reporting of Watchlist/Weak/NPA cases.
Manage working relationships with various Business Units across the bank to facilitate successful execution of transactions.
Visit existing and potential clients together with RMs
Screen marginal credits through early involvement to reduce unproductive efforts by RMs to improve efficiency and reduce turnaround time
Ensure credit approvals/reviews are approved/supported on a timely basis
General Duties,
Other tasks assigned by Line Manager and Management.
Work with the RMs in structuring complex transactions to manage/minimise risk profile of the transaction.
Provide specific industry knowledge/support to RMG colleagues as requested.
Requirements
Cross- sector and product knowledge.
15 or more years of experience in Banking at least 10 of which should be in a Credit function exercising delegated credit authority.
Good negotiation and problem- solving skills.
Good risk management and compliance awareness.
University degree with major in Finance, Economics or Business preferred.
Results oriented team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
