Job Purpose:
The incumbent of this job is responsible for leading, developing and implementing agency management programs for attaining or exceeding key performance indicators (KPI) and profitability objectives and department goals, and for maintaining various programs to achieve desired results. This position is also responsible to lead and direct initiatives that will sustain quality of the agency distribution channel through quality assurance and monitoring covering both the sales and field management process. Goals include generating agency channel targets AFYP, new recruits; improving active agents and agent productivity, growing the agency force according to company’s business strategy; supporting profitability through quality measures by implementing and monitoring the Risk Indicators Monitoring (RIM) report, Market Conduct Standards (MCS) and Agency Fundamentals (AF) work practices set by Regional Office; developing agency development staff. Develop and improve performance of agency development management team to achieve established goals with quality.
Major Accountabilities:
Be accountable for delivering nationwide sales target (i.e. Active agents, Activity Ratio, Recruitment, AFYP, Persistency)
Planning and execution
Establishing follow- up reporting systems for alerts, agency feedback and case resolutions; in implementing intervention programs to reduce “red flags” and deterioration in trend in quality business, promote quality sales & field management practices
Anticipate market trends and industry practices, and lead the development of business plans and strategies to set performance and growth milestones. Manage and work with Territory Directors to set targets, improve productivity and quality of business, strengthen relationships and achieve Key Business Performance Indicators (KBPIs); for example, metrics may include AFYP, FYC, Productivity, Activity, Persistency, Headcount, etc.
Follow up by monitoring progress and results and taking appropriate counter measures.
Provide leadership, vision and strategy to drive business results through agency development channel, strengthen relationship with business partners such as GA directors, manage and implement the agreed agency development strategies to build capability, improve performance and efficiencies, and deliver against business plan;
Provide leadership to the DQA team in the design & roll- out of sales/management tools and work practices that are customer- centric, distribution- relevant, and compliant to market conduct standards; monitoring and sales practices risk indicators monitoring (RIM), local red flags, market conduct control metrics (MCCM)
Resources and Budget Management
Oversee the management of all operational including technology deployment, financial and human resources within the approved budget to maximizing utilization of resources by:
Create the climate of high performance and alignment with SLV’s strategic direction on culture and talent development
Continuously improving subordinates competence level
Continuously enhancing the management capability
Continuously enhancing technology deployment
Ensure proper budgeting process and operating within agreed budget
Take corrective action when performance needs improvement.
Governance, compliance and risk management
Oversee the implementation of all applicable governing legislation, regulations, directives, policies and industry association guidelines as well as risks within individual life business by:
Ensure proper implementation of relevant Corporate policies, local standards and operating guidelines
Ensure proper assessment and mitigation process for all risks related to operations and individual life insurance
Relationships and Communications: Build effective relationships both within and outside the company; seek input from and maintain effective ongoing communication with others. Manage conflict to ensure least disruption to organization.
