Job Summary:
As a Game Designer, you will play a central role in crafting the mechanics, systems, and overall player experience of our games. You will work alongside developers, artists, and producers to design engaging gameplay features, level layouts, and narrative elements that deliver fun and impactful player experiences. Your creativity and attention to detail will ensure that every aspect of our games, from core mechanics to user interface, aligns with our vision and resonates with players.
Key Responsibilities:
Game Conceptualization: Design and document new game mechanics, systems, levels, characters, and narratives, ensuring alignment with the overall vision of the game.
Player Feedback & Testing: Analyze player feedback and game metrics to iterate and improve design elements, ensuring the game remains fun and balanced throughout development.
Creative Problem Solving: Address design challenges and obstacles, adapting to feedback and finding solutions that keep the player experience engaging and cohesive.
Gameplay Systems: Develop and balance core gameplay systems (combat, progression, economy, etc.) to create a satisfying and engaging player experience.
User Experience: Work closely with UI/UX designers to create intuitive and enjoyable user interfaces that enhance the player&039;s immersion and experience.
Trend Awareness: Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and popular gameplay mechanics to continuously innovate and elevate our designs.
Prototyping & Iteration: Build and refine gameplay prototypes to test ideas, mechanics, and systems, gathering feedback to inform design iterations.
Documentation: Maintain clear and detailed design documentation, including game mechanics, level layouts, character attributes, and narrative arcs.
Collaboration with Teams: Partner with developers, artists, sound designers, and writers to ensure game features are implemented in a way that maintains the creative vision and technical feasibility.
Level Design: Design, prototype, and iterate on game levels and environments, ensuring they’re fun, challenging, and rewarding to play.
Requirements:
Strong problem- solving skills, with the ability to adapt designs to new constraints or feedback.
Proven experience as a Game Designer or in a similar design role, with a portfolio showcasing completed game projects.
Creative, detail- oriented, and able to balance vision with practical implementation.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and ideas clearly to both technical and non- technical team members.
Familiarity with scripting or basic programming (e.g., Lua, C)
Strong understanding of game mechanics, level design principles, and player psychology.
Experience using game design tools (e.g., Unity, Cocos Creator, Cocos 2D)
A passion for gaming and understanding of various game genres, mechanics, and player experiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with multiplayer game design and understanding of online game dynamics.
Knowledge of player engagement analytics and how to use data to refine gameplay.
Degree in Game Design, Computer Science, Interactive Media, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
