General Accountant (AP & Assets)

We are seeking a General Accountant to join one of our projects in the retail sector specializing in premium consumer goods. With a focus on data- driven operations, we are currently in the process of building our ERP system to streamline our business process and enhance decision- making.

In line with our commitment to data- driven operations, the role is vital to ensure accurate, efficient and compliant management and recording of accounts payable and company asset – related activities.
With a focus on data- driven operations, we are currently in the process of building our ERP system to streamline our business processes and enhance decision- making.
Job Description

Account Payable (AP) Activities:
Process payments to suppliers based on agreed terms;
Propose and implement improvements in the accounting department’s processes.
Monitor and address any discrepancies related to data in the ERP system;
Collaborate closely with the Procurement department to ensure data accuracy;
Reconcile and verify supplier invoices in alignment with our standards;
Asset Management:
Participate in periodic asset inventories and report discrepancies;
Calculate and record fixed asset depreciation;
Record and manage the company’s assets;
Ensure compliance with regulations regarding asset management and recording.
Collaborate with technical and maintenance departments to ensure timely maintenance and upkeep of assets;
Other Responsibilities:
Coordinate and assist in the auditing process;
Provide feedback and participate in improving asset management and account payable processes;
Engage in cost control, financial reporting setup and fixed asset reporting as per requirements and regulations.

Willingness to learn and adapt to a changing environment
Detail- oriented, careful, and accurate in tasks
Bachelor&039;s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related fields
Strong understanding of accounting principles and procedures
3+ years of experience in a relevant accounting role
Preference for candidates with strong data handling skills
Proactive, with good communication and teamwork skills
Proficiency in Excel and other accounting software, especially ERP
Excellent analytical, problem- solving, and reporting skills
